Devise Theatre Arts welcomes aspiring performers from Winchester and the surrounding areas.
You don't need to have experience, just a willing to learn, engage and have fun!
Drama
From creating characters to making your own plays - drama is more than just reading from a script. We encourage our students to be imaginative and create their own worlds. We cover improvisations, TV and film and different genres of theatre to cater for all tastes.
Showcase
Once a year, we will offer a showcase performance ranging from a full production to snippets of what we have learnt over the year. If you've never been on stage before - don't panic! We'll always make sure you're showcased to the max whilst still being confident.
Musical Theatre
We are not a dance school. We teach students to be expressive through song and movement and ultimately be able to tell a story. We use powerful Musical scores ranging through different styles to enable something to suit all tastes and abilities.
Physical Theatre
At Devise Theatre Arts, we empower students to express themselves through the powerful combination of song, movement, script and storytelling. Unlike traditional Musical Theatre schools, our approach emphasizes the use of music as a core element in the creative process. Through devising, we help students use music to set mood, enhance atmosphere, and build dynamic choreography that contributes to a meaningful narrative. By focusing on both artistic expression and physical movement, we guide our students in telling stories that resonate with their audience.
